Place
"Place" is a mixed media piece that includes all kinds of photographic images, including those of temples, patterns reminiscent, to me, of Islamic architecture and personal snap-shots I had taken on vacation-on a plywood box. I was feeling displaced at the time this piece was created. After it was finished, while trying to figure out the intuitive inclusion of photos of ladders and steps,and the juxtapositioning of grand temple imagery with snap-shots of favorite moments and places, I saw the connection to the biblical story of Jacob, and realized the rightness of place I was in.
