Tears was created in response to the two attacks on Iraq. Side One uses photographic images that echo well known formal elements in Islamic architechture. Upside down. Dissolving. Behind is a fibrous material such as pushes through all ruins. The piece is two sided and in a steel case, behind plexi-glass. (I would prefer glass, but have not altered it, as the plastic is safer and less expensive for shipping and handling).
The name refers to the tears, the tatters, the destruction. Shown in Side One. And the tears, the grief. Shown in Side Two. The word is the same. The destruction and grief also one.
